Patrice
Hello,
First of all, thank you for visiting the Krupp website and for your interest to learn about me.
I am Patrice; one of your resident associates; and as such I have committed to be in Krupp for you and for Krupp College. The first beloved information I would like to share with you is that I am Cameroonian. Cameroon is one the big nations of Football (not soccer!) across the globe. I completed my studies in physics in Cameroon and I most recently graduated from the University of Yaoundé I, nicknamed “the Hill of Knowledge". Currently I am carrying out a PhD research in physics in the field of optical spectroscopy and nanoscience for the sake of probing deep into the realm of biological systems. This aspect is only part my ongoing experience. I always love living in a community as it is the case in my motherland Cameroon.
Actually upon my arrival in Germany I had a great time learning German while being accommodated with many other international participants for 6 short months, sharing all facilities in our very culturally rich environment. This was my first contact ever with people from Germany, Brazil, Spain, Iran, USA, and many other South American and African countries in the same house. This was a great experience and I am indebted to the DAAD that made this possible. After my language course, it was therefore not an issue for my professor to convince me to live in the college at Jacobs University (still called at that time: International University Bremen) and I easily found another way home, that is in Krupp college. After a period of about a year in Krupp, I briefly experienced living off campus, but most of me was still in Krupp, and it was no wonder that I came back in Krupp in September 2007 the same year as a resident associate. To this respect, I would like to thank all Kruppies for accepting me to be part of this lovely community.
As one of your RAs, I am here to provide you first aid, will answer present in case of emergency, and make Krupp a lovely, quiet, and secure place to live and have fun via co-organized social activities and all that for your studies. Moreover, would you want to draw the attention, or know what is going on in the college, or would you just need someone to talk to, stop me, stop by, mail me, or dial me.
As to my hobbies, I used to study/work a lot and play football a lot and talk only French. Now I work and play football except when I am injured, which should only hardly happen. I also like running, reading, and dancing, and I really enjoy speaking many languages including French in the first place, German, Spanish, and Chinese. My future hobbies are music and swimming which I hope to learn.
