From The Inside & Be-A-Link:Creating a World Without Poverty - Discussion

From The Inside & Be-A-Link presents another discussion forum, Sunday 20:30, Krupp Media Room.

The economic recession we're in had many causes, on of which was the unfettered and unregulated lending by banks. Muhammad Yunus is an economist from Bangladesh who became famous for a new kind of lending: micro-credit. This system won him and the Grameen Bank the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006.

Then Yunus wrote "Creating a World Without Poverty: Social Business and the Future of Capitalism" on a fairly new concept: social business.

Neither charity nor for-profit, social businesses, Yunus argues, form a vital link missing in current capitalist practice, without which we will forever suffer gross inequality.

Want to learn more about the theory? Want to see it in practice? Want to learn about the impact Grameen has had in rural Bangladesh? Come by Sunday for the disussion!
