Krupp Party Zone

Krupp Party Zone is a small party venue that can be booked by Kruppies for private parties and social events. Bookings cannot be made online but must be made with the RA on duty.

Rules:

1. THE KRUPP PARTY ZONE (KPZ) in the Alfried Krupp College B-Block basement is a small venue available for Krupp Residents (Kruppies) to book private parties for up to approximately 30 guests.

2. THE KPZ is only available for bookings on Friday and Saturday nights.

3. BOOKINGS AND DEPOSIT for the KPZ are controlled by the Resident Associate on duty - contact them by e-mail to book. All bookings must be made by 10p.m. the day before the party. Kruppies will need to arrange a time to meet with the RA on duty to a €30 Deposit, to sign this agreement, and to get the key.

4. BOOKINGS must be made by two or more Kruppies for any party. One Kruppie will be designated as the Host and bear the ultimate responsibility for the booking and party. The Host needs to be at the party at all times and will be the only person the RA communicates with to resolve any issues. The other(s) will serve as Party Patrol to monitor that the rules are followed.

5. CANCELLING BOOKINGS: Please inform the RA on duty of any cancellations as soon as possible so others may book the room. Krupp College reserves the right to cancel/amend any bookings of the KPZ as it sees fit.

6. RETURN OF DEPOSIT AND CLEANING: In order to receive a full return of the Deposit, the entire KPZ must be cleaned and the key returned by 6pm the following day of the party. The KPZ includes the lounge and dance rooms, the basement corridor, the outside stairwell basement entrance, and lawn area outside the basement entrance. All rubbish must be removed and thrown away in the large containers across from the entrance to A-Block by the laboratories. The floor of the KPZ must be swept/mopped as needed. The windows and doors of the KPZ must be closed and locked. Failure to comply will result in loss of the cleaning deposit until the KPZ is cleaned properly and/or loss of future booking privileges.

7. EQUIPMENT: The KPZ is equipped with party lights and a sound system. All equipment must be left in good working order. Kruppies booking the room may be held financially liable for any damages, intentional or accidental, to the equipment, facilities, and furnishings of the KPZ.

8. QUIET HOURS, as designated by the Undergraduate Student Government House Rules Agreement, must be respected. Friday-Saturday, 1pm-7am, Parties can go later into the night but noise levels need to be drastically reduced. NO LOUD MUSIC! Any noise complaints will be taken seriously and parties can also be terminated for failure to comply.

9. NO SMOKING or sources of fire of any kind are allowed in the KPZ. This will be strictly enforced due to fire and safety hazards. Krupp College reserves the right to immediately terminate a party if smoking is occurring within the basement.

10. THE EXIT TO THE OUTSIDE STAIRWELL MUST REMAIN CLOSED at all times during a party. No use of the door except for emergencies will be tolerated. This is to ensure that noise from the KPZ does not go outside. Smokers must leave the building through another exit in a quiet manner. Smoking in the outside stairwell is strictly prohibited as the smoke gets sucked in by a vent of the apartment above.

11. THE WINDOW OF THE KPZ DANCE ROOM, MUST REMAINED CLOSED at all times while music is playing. Again, this is to ensure noise reduction. If the room gets too hot, the stereo must be turned off if you want to ventilate the room for a bit.

12. SHUTTING DOWN PARTIES: The Resident Associates have the power to terminate parties in violation of the above rules and/or other behavior deemed inappropriate. This is not debatable. Sound and lights will be shut off, the KPZ cleared, and locked. Kruppies who booked the KPZ will still be responsible for cleaning the room or lose their deposit and/or future booking privileges and/or be permanently banned from the KPZ.

13. RESPECT THE KPZ: Any person, Kruppies booking the KPZ or party guests, who abuse the KPZ in any way can be held liable for damages intentional or accidental, and may lose future booking privileges, be permanently banned from the KPZ, be liable to do Community Service and/or subject to the jurisdiction of the Student Court and/or Porters.

14. LIABILITY: Alfried Krupp College bears no liability for personal injury or loss/theft/damage to personal property while in the KPZ. Have fun but party at your own risk!
