Hello, my name is Laura Smith and I am your new resident mentor in Krupp College.  I am very excited to be working here at Jacobs and looking forward to welcoming you back and living together, as neighbours, over the coming year!

I come to the Resident Mentor role with 15 years of experience of working with young people aged between 16 and 25.  I have lived and worked in Ghana, South Africa and Pakistan and in my previous job was managing an international youth programme in over 27 countries across the world.  I am very excited to again be working in such an international environment with students from so many countries.

I have come to live in Krupp with my family.  We are an international family coming both from the UK and Nigeria!  My husband, Shola, grew up in Nigeria and then lived in the UK for 20 years, before moving to Germany.  Shola is a lecturer and researcher in African Literature and works at the University of Bremen.

We have two children, Adefela (boy), who is 4 years old and Ifelola (girl), who is almost 2.  They are loving being here in Krupp college and are looking forward to having lots of neighbours!

We are all very excited to be here and looking forward to meeting you all very soon.
